Dear family and friends,
Today our family received the most heart wrenching news imaginable. My sweet, happy, smart grandson Marcus has cancer.
It all started with an ear infection, a few weeks ago, which progressed to a swollen gland and inflamed tonsil. Saturday poor Marcus landed in Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where he has remained.
This afternoon Marcus was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma, a rare but highly aggressive form of non-hodgkin lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer of the lymphatic system which helps your body fight infection.
Marcus is only 3 years old and will have to undergo six (6) months of chemotherapy. to eradicate this awful disease. He has a very long road ahead of him. His parents, Eric and Angela are without family support, 3000 miles away. Eventually Eric will return to work and Angela will be staying with Marcus at Children’s Hospital.
