A week ago my family endured a life changing, scary event. My brother in law, Marco Almazan who is 34 years of age suffered a major heart attack and had to go through a Six Bypass Surgery.
Marco was playing his beloved game soccer when he collapsed and was struggling to breathe. Luckily, my sister was with him and a dear friend lived nearby who is a Registered Nurse. He was assessed, and EMS was called and Marco was rushed to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.
He was immediately taken to the Cath Lab where a stent was inserted, and the next morning his bypass surgery was conducted. Through the power of prayers and the expertise of the surgeons, Marco surgery went extremely well.
After 5 nights in the hospital-2 nights in the ICU, and 3 nights on the Cardiac floor, Marco and my sister were able to go home.
Prior to departing the hospital, my sister received the first of many bills in the amount of 65K dollars, however since my sister and her family reside in Marble Falls, an hour outside of Austin, they are focusing on Marco post-treatment, doctor’s appointments, therapy, and travel.
My nieces’ and nephew, Donna, Marco Jr., and Naomi know that their dad has been sick and had to have heart surgery but they are extremely happy to have their daddy home again.
We are asking for any assistance down the long road of recovery that he has in front of him. We ask that everyone continue to pray for Marco health and for the family.
