Marcia Houser Recovery Battle

Donation protected
Marcia has been diagnosed with Meningioma which is a non-cancerous tumor that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. After a detailed evaluation of the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Board (radiology, oncologist, ENT neurosurgeon and neurosurgeon), they have strongly recommended that Marcia schedule surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery is scheduled for October 2 and expected to take 10-12 hours and will involve very complex procedures. They will not know if any follow-up radiation treatment will be required until they analyze the tumor.

Marcia’s greatest need is financial support during the expected 4 to 6 week recovery period (assuming all goes well). She is single and self employed as a hair stylist. Her ability to resume work and making sufficient income is 100% dependent on a successful recovery that will enable her to work on her feet for an extended period of time. She is fortunate that she has family, friends and her local church body to attend to her physical recovery (and her beloved animals). However, out of pocket expenses such as living expenses and insurance deductibles will be substantial over a two month period. She is a strong self-reliant women who also has a strong faith that the good Lord will get her through this. However, as we know the Lord uses people to help others through challenging times such as this. In Marcia’s case, anyone who feels led to help her with financial support would be greatly appreciated.
