Marci Shimizu Education Fund

On January 4, 2018, Ryan (16), Sydney (13), and Ty (10) Shimizu unexpectedly lost their mother, Marci, just one month after her 50th birthday. Those that knew Marci were fortunate enough to experience her bright personality, compassion, kindness, and love. She was a listening ear, the glue amongst her many social circles, and her kids' #1 sports fan. She brought great joy and a sense of comfort and belonging to those around her. Marci loved seeing her children do well in school and sports, and built a solid foundation for them to grow into well-rounded, kind, and respectful people.
Marci valued the kids' Catholic education and wished to see all of her children graduate from college. In order to support and assist Eric as he prepares to face the challenges of life without Marci, we humbly ask for your donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Marci Shimizu Memorial Education Fund. These funds will allow Ryan, Sydney, and Ty to continue their Catholic schooling and transition to high school and college.

Ryan is currently a junior at Seattle Prep. He plays on the school baseball team, basketball for SASC, enjoys writing (scroll to the end for a poem Ryan wrote to Marci), and has received several academic awards, including the golden dragon award.
Sydney is in 8th grade at St. George and is in the process of applying to high school. She plays several school sports as well as basketball for SCAA. She has received Top Honors, the Principal's Award, and is currently taking advanced math.
Ty is in 5th grade at St. George. He enjoys school sports and SASC basketball. He has received the Principal's Award and Academic Honorable Mention.

Marci loved concerts, this one was an EWF concert with close friends at Chateau Saint Michelle.
