1). My name is Lisa Katzman and I am a board member for the Dr. Michael M. Krop Lightning Activities Booster Club. I set up this GoFundMe page on behalf of the students wanting to attend the rally in Washington D.C. on March 24, 2018.
2). My daughter is a board member of the Student Government Association at Dr. Michael Krop Senior High and I work closely with Ms. Michelle Russell who has been the Activities Director for 17 years at Krop.
3). I created this link to reach out to the hundreds of students Ms. Russell has helped throughout their high school years in hopes that the funds could help reduce the amount of money each student wishing to attend the trip would have to pay. At the moment Ms. Russell has 50 students wanting to attend the March for our Lives Rally in Washington D.C.
4). The diverse group of 90 students will be traveling from Dr. Michael M. Krop located in Miami, Florida and will be leaving via chartered busses (2) on Thursday, March 22. They will travel straight thru to Washington D.C. and will attend the rally on Saturday and travel back to Miami Sunday morning. These funds will help keep the costs down so students only have to pay for hotel sharing and meals.
5). As soon as the funds hit my personal bank account with Chase I will issue a the check for the exact amount to the school which will then be used towards the busses and trip expenses.
Thank you in advance for providing the vehicle to help raise funds for so many!!
March for Our Lives was inspired and created by students across the country who want to join the protest in Washington, D.C. On March 24, 2018 students, teachers, families and friends will take to the streets of Washington, D.C. to demand that their lives and safety become a priority. The collective voices of the March For Our Lives movement will be heard. March For Our Lives believes the time is now.
We are the students at Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School which is located in Miami Dade County about 40 minutes from our friends in Parkland who attend Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Our goal is to raise enough money to help defer costs to take 50 students and 4 chaperones to Washington, D.C. and be a part of this historic protest.
We believe that it is our voice that will make the difference and hold our nations leaders accountable for real and substantial gun control. We greatly appreciate any support you can give us as students, in order to help us participate in this movement that we feel so strongly about. No donation is too small!
