Marc and Jodie Emery are recognized worldwide as long-standing legalization leaders and activists for cannabis law reform & freedom. In March 2017, Marc and Jodie were arrested alongside fellow activists Erin & Chris Goodwin and Britney Guerra, charged with numerous offences related to the recent "Cannabis Culture" dispensary franchise model that existed from late April 2016 to March 2017.
On December 18, 2017 all five accepted a guilty plea on various counts. This plea deal saw 17 other people freed from criminal records, as their 180+ charges were withdrawn completely.

The punishment sentence for Marc and Jodie Emery is substantial: a fine of $195,000 each. That's a $150,000 fine plus a 30% victim surcharge fee.
Chris and Britney were fined $10,000 plus 30%, and Erin was fined $3,000 plus 30%.
Many people know we have struggled and suffered hardship for decades as we devoted our lives to cannabis advocacy and legalization. Despite many long years of protest, political campaigns, legal challenges in court, extradition to U.S. prison, and more ordeals, Marc and Jodie have survived – and set an example of courage and sacrifice for a very important global civil liberties cause.
Now they are forced to suffer even more, as numerous investors and former cops, narcs and politicians launch and join new marijuana companies to cash in on the upcoming "legal" market.
This Go Fund Me account is set up for the many people who wish to contribute towards the massive sentencing fee. While the fines total nearly $400,000, the target for this fundraiser is $25,000. You can be sure that 100% of contributions will used for the sentencing fines.
