Boston Marathon for HopkintonPolice

Dear friends and family,

We have chosen to run the 119th Boston Marathon in support of the Hopkinton Police Department.  We are asking for a small donation to support these unsung heroes who have been at the start of the Boston Marathon every year, ensuring that nearly 30,000 runners safely take off in Hopkinton, and that over 500, 000 spectators safely enjoy watching.

When the unthinkable marathon bombing happened in 2013,  Boston’s local police forces were there to rescue, resuscitate, transport and control the tragedy that unfolded at mile 26.  Without local law enforcement, many more lives of runners and spectators may have been changed forever.

Every marathon runner has a story of why they run, how hard they’ve trained,  what organization they will fundraise for, and what their personal goal is.  We too have (many!) personal reasons for running, but we have chosen to run simply because the Hopkinton Police Department  (including our own Matt McNeil)  has provided local Massachusetts runners (that's us!) the opportunity to participate in the marathon, while also supporing them.

Please consider the importance of the safety of the thousands of runners and spectators, and consider making a donation to the police department that has been providing a smooth start and finish to the Boston Marathon, since 1897.  With the help of your donation,  the start and finish lines on April 20, 2015 will look        Boston Strong

With heartfelt thanks,
