<div>My 45th marathon takes me to Newcastle, Tyne and Wear. This week’s run is for The Healing Foundation, an Australian charity supporting the healing journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—including survivors of the Stolen Generations and their descendants.

<div>What is the struggle?
</div>
<div>For many First Nations Australians, trauma runs deep and across generations. Policies of forced child removal, cultural dislocation, and systemic injustice have left scars on individuals, families, and communities. Without culturally safe supports, many struggle with mental health, identity, and connection to land, culture, and community. Healing must address physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural wounds altogether.

</div>
<div>Why am I running for this cause?
</div>
<div>Because the journey of healing is one that demands acknowledging the past and caring for those who continue to bear its weight, it was so noticeable in my 9 months away in Australia, this wasn’t the case. I believe that no community should carry trauma alone, and by running for The Healing Foundation I hope to raise awareness and support for those walking toward restoration, dignity, and cultural strength.
