Marathon for Friends of St Lukes
Well folks, I'm starting a fundraiser for Friends of St Lukes charity in Rathgar, Dublin. Most of you would have known my uncle Paddy "Fenny" McBride who passed away from cancer in 2018. Uncle Paddy attended St Lukes Oncology Centre to undergo treatment and was extremely well looked after during his time there.
Uncle Paddy was a serious athlete in his day, playing soccer for Fanad United FC (and others) and football for our homeclub, CLG Na Dúnaibh. There were too many awards he won for me to list out here but ill add a few bits later on. After hanging up the boots Paddy went on to referee GAA matches and compete in marathons.
Paddy always fundraised for charity and for much needed equipment for the Downings parish for each marathon he done. He completed 17 marathons over the years and raised funds to make our club and parish what they are today.
I'm going to try my best to bring home marathon no. 18 for the Fenny clan and raise a few pound for St Lukes who looked after Paddy so well. Any donations would be appreciated
