Marathon 205

We are "Arnie's Team" and we are raising money for Arnie James' battle with MDS pre-leukemia cancer.  Arnie is 74 years old and has 204 marathons under his belt, including 29  New York City marathons.   He is a wonderful and talented guy who loves running!  His intensive bone marrow transplant phase is coming to a close (during the last week of August) but he is needing lots of non-covered medical and personal care for the next 3 months.  He is a member of Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church in Somerville, Massachusetts, and we are raising money from within to help him with these expenses.  But we know there are many others who would like to support him during this very difficult time and so we are sponsoring this gofundme site.  Donations will be completely designated for his medical-related expenses; no donations will go toward the church.  Clarendon Hill is just functioning as the nonprofit for donation purposes (i.e. tax deductions).

Some of his medical needs  are:  making sure his apartment is clean and sanitized (bacteria is enemy #1 while his immune system is down), personal care assistance, daily transportation to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, special dietary help, related medical supplies, etc.    There are also medical expenses that are only partially covered or not covered at all.  We are hoping to provide some relief for him through this (he is social security fixed income since  his retirement).
