<div><strong>You Can Help Mara Harris Heal and Rise Again</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dear chosen family, friends old and new,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As many of you know, our dear friend Mara Harris has been enduring debilitating pain in both hips for many years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For more than two decades, this trailblazing yoga explorer and AcroYoga pioneer, rooted in San Diego, shared her gifts and energy through yogic arts and Contact Improv Dance. Her classes weren’t just movement; they were medicine for the body and balm for the heart.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By facilitating balance, strength, and relationship through movement, Mara helped hundreds of people, young and old, to explore their capacities to trust, connect, play, and authentically express.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All those years of giving through her body; transmitting wisdom through hands, feet, hips, and presence took a toll. These days, the livelihood into which she poured so much of herself and her passion has been out of reach for many years. Even the simplest movements—walking, sitting and standing, getting in and out of a car, and going up and down stairs—have become a painful daily challenge.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With the support of modern medicine and caring people like us, Mara is about to take a long-awaited and crucial first step toward physical ease, right livelihood, and embodied joy. Renewal is on the horizon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>On December 12, at UC San Diego Health, Mara will undergo a simultaneous bilateral total hip replacement surgery.</strong> Operating on both sides at once in one procedure is uncommon. It is reserved for a select few, with a greater risk of complication; a difficult path to healing, but both she and her doctors agree, her situation is dire.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In March 2026, she’ll undergo a second surgery to repair bilateral femoral hernias. This will further alleviate her pain and restore her. With time, rest, and the right supportive care, she aims to be fully recovered by June 2026.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The jubilant vision of Mara walking without a limp or pain—of her dancing, even teaching again—is in sight!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our precious friend deserves to rest easier while she recovers, so we’ve created this GoFundMe on her behalf.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your funds will help with:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Surgery and medical costs not covered by insurance: copays, office visits, medications, and bone-healing supplements
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Cost of living during recovery: home expenses, food, and other basic necessities.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, bodywork, and holistic therapies
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While you’re here, we welcome and encourage your contributions in any amount. <strong>Your support—large or small—will directly sustain Mara’s healing and stability over the next several months.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re not able to offer financial resources right now, your valuable contributions of meals, rides, running errands, healing sessions, and friendly check-ins will also be essential and deeply appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Friends, if you’ve ever found value in one of Mara’s classes, workshops, or events, or felt healing in her touch—if her presence has ever helped you find strength, inspiration, connection, or laughter—now is the perfect time to return the gift.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please take a moment to contribute as you can and, if you will, share this request with others who might help.
</div>
<div>Mara would always say, “If I can do it, you can do it… and I can do it.”
</div>
<div><strong>Right now, she can’t do it without us. Let’s help her do it!</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love for Mara, for our beautiful community, and in the spirit of renewal and restoration in all its forms,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>
<div>Jenni Legend and Thomas Wall
