Our lovable furbaby, Maponos, was shot with a pellet gun in my backyard on Wednesday, 15 August. He is currently in critical but stable condition with a punctured and collapsed lung, and is on a series of antibiotics, painkillers, and in an oxygen tent kennel to help his breathing. For the moment he cannot be transferred for surgery, and the costs for round-the-clock care are mounting rapidly - and may grow even more if we have to arrange for medical transport for him to Colorado, where he can get surgery if he does not stabilize and improve on his own.
Maponos is more than just a pet - he is a companion and therapy animal for PTSD I developed from the service, even though not in an official capacity. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated, and all proceeds will go toward bringing Maponos home where he belongs.
