Green Acres Needs Help

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

Green Acres, which is not only our home and business, but the home to many animals and childrens programs (Summer Day Camps, Outreach Programs, Field Trips, Egg Hatches for schools, riding lessons and birthday parties) is in need of help.
On July 27, 2014, there was a terrible storm in our area and our home (which is attached to the front of the barn) and barn suffered damage.   We not only had hail damage, but wind damage which resulted in water damage to the interior portion of the house.
We filed a claim with our insurance company, Farm Bureau and they agreed to pay for the repairs to the roof, barn and home area.

We hired a company, One Time Construction, owned by Stosh Gizinski on September 3, 2014.  Not knowing any better, and doing what we were instructed to do by OTC, we signed over the entire first check to them in September.

OTC was to remove and replace the entire roof (17,000 sf), repair drywall in the barn and house and paint.

They installed the new roof, breaking insulation panels and putting holes in the light panels along the way.  The real problem began two days before Thanksgiving when the new roof (that was not installed properly or complete) blew off the barn. (Notice the overhanging panels from the other side in the picture)
Our farm became unsafe for people and animals as 37 ft pieces of metal were blowing thru the air!  We had to quickly move all of the animals out of the barn and off the property.  We had them spread out in three counties at three different barns.  Thank you to our friends who were able to each take a few!  This became an all day chore of driving to each barn twice a day to care for them.

The company secured the roof so we were able to move the animals back five days later, only to result in workers smoking pot on our roof, screwing the roof down improperly, missing the purlins, breaking more insulation board and installing our chimney so poorly that we are not able to use it.Looking up in the barn...broken and shifted insulation board, now fastened down just like that.  They never fixed them.
Looking up....no ridge cap resulting in snow and ice in arena.
Snow and water, resulting in ice in the arena.  Unable to hold programs and lessons at the farm for children.
Our brand new roof, with exposed holes.  They told us this is not effecting the function of the roof!
This is how they installed our new chimney, with the old flashing!

We have exhausted all options...we tried working with OTC to make the roof right, we tried filing a claim against their Liability Insurance, only to find out that they aren't covered for poor workmanship.  We even filed a complaint with the state of Michigan .

We have had multiple contractors and a metal manufacturer here to look at the roof and advise us what we can do.  The only option is to take it all off and start over.

Green Acres desperately needs your help!

Our insurance company said the contract is between us and them...we can not afford to hire an attorney...we've had to cancel everything at the farm for the past 4 1/2 months.  The project was supposed to take two weeks per OTC.  The farm has not had any income since OTC started the project.  We still have bills to pay and mouths to feed.

Please find it in your heart to help us get the roof done correctly so we may continue to provide a safe and fun place for children to come and learn!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Have a blessed day!
