Ben and Manpreet grew up together. Manpreet's mom (Iris) was Ben's babysitter and she cared for him like a son. Just recently, it has come to our attention that Iris (still in her 50's) has developed early-onset dementia.
Manpreet has tried to keep the household running, but as a teenager working hard to graduate high school, it has been too much for her. We have reached out to the school, congressional representatives and social services to little or no result, but she kept plugging away.
Today, I received an urgent plea from Manpreet to help her get the water turned back on. It was with great shame she admitted that she has not had water for two weeks at this point. Apparently the bill is several thousand dollars and she has no connections or means to have the water turned back on.
During our time of strife, I turned away countless offers of help. I ask that if there is any way that you help this family in need that you please help us help them!
