A friend/coworker picked-up by ICE

Hi. Manny, a friend and co-worker was picked up by ICE this past Wednesday (02.07.18) and is being held in prison in York, PA.

I'm not showing his face in the photo, he's the one with his back to the camera, because I don't want to make anything worse for him.

He is a husband & father of 3 young kids. Manny's wife & one of the kids have ongoing medical concerns. Manny's wife has a difficult time working full time due to being a parent & her illness.

I have known Manny 2 1/2 years and worked along side him on several projects. He is a good guy. Works hard. Takes care of his family.

I don't know his full history, just know him to be a guy who pulls his weight and cares for his family as he should.

What I know about his situation is that he will be held at least two weeks in prison in York. He is held in general population at the prison and has almost no access to reach out to his family and get legal assistance.

At the minimum, his family will need some help for a few weeks till things get sorted out. Manny's wife just had started a part-time job, but they need both their incomes to get by. Assuming he can get released on Bond, he will need money for Bond & legal fees.

I know that we have laws about immigration, but I also know we in the midst of a major upheaval over immigration. Courts are overloaded, ICE is picking up just about anybody who looks like they might be 'illegal', without regard to whether they pose any real threat to society or not.

I hope you can help give Manny and his family a chance to sort things out and keep their family together. Thanks
