Josiah rushed Manny to the Fairfield Emergency Animal Hospital, where, once he was stabilized and examined, he was told that Manny had suffered a badly dislocated femur on the right side, a destroyed CCL (a dog's ACL) on the left, and the open impact wound would need to be treated with an intense course of antibiotics, since it was beginning to fester and become infected.
The team at Fairfield informed us of the options, and the only way Manny would be able to walk again was to undergo two surgeries; a hip replacement on the right, and a knee reconstruction on the left. Because, luckily, Manny did not suffer any internal injuries, the prognosis was good, but only if Josiah made the decision to go ahead with these surgeries, the cost of which would be exorbitant.
Along with the surgeries, the cost of the nights Manny had to spend in the hospital, the pain medication he needed, and the aftercare he is now receiving, the medical expenses are draining our financial resources. We are hoping that those of you who have met Manny, or have a pet that you couldn't put a price on, would consider contributing to this GoFundMe account set up to help pay for Manny's ongoing care. Any donation, no matter how much, would be gratefully appreciated!
