Manjinder Singh Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa Etcheverry. I am sister to Amanda Singh and sister in-law to Manjinder (Mani) Singh.

My brother in-law Mani was in a tragic accident at work Monday August 23rd. He’s a construction worker. He was helping build an arena north of town. It’s unknown what went wrong but the trusses gave way and many of them fell from above and landed on him.

He was trapped for about 1 hour and was going in and out of consciousness. In his mind he was thinking this was his last day to live. He sustained spinal vertebrae burst fractures in a couple of places, a laceration to his spinal cord and some of the spinal nerves were crushed. He presented to the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) in North Battleford as a trauma to be stabilized. He was then sent to Royal University Hospital (RUH) in Saskatoon where he underwent emergency neurosurgery that night. (They are so thankful to the ambulance crew, BUH and RUH for all of their care.)

They repaired the spinal cord laceration the best they could and placed rods in his back to fuse his lumbar spine. It is unknown if he will ever walk again or not. Only time will tell. At this time he can not move his legs but has regained some feeling. He has been in a lot of pain physically and mentally. He is expecting an extensive period of time for rehabilitation.

My sister Amanda is trying her best to keep up with all the extra demands but is struggling. On top of this tragedy, they were in the process of moving into their first home together. Mani had many plans to fix up the home himself but now will not be able to.

Mani was the sole income earner for the family. My sister is a stay at home mom of their two children. She struggles with severe ankylosing spondylitis making it difficult for her to work outside of the home. I’ve created this go fund me to help them with added expenses, such as child care, travel costs to Saskatoon often, some house repairs that may have to be hired out, bridging the gap while waiting for WCB benefits and many other expenses that have come up for them. If you can help at all it would be so very much appreciated. If you can not help right now that’s ok too, please send prayers and positive vibes their way ❤️
