Mandy's Fight For Her Life and Family!
Donation protected
My Sister-In-Law, Mandy has been in the fight of her life since heart surgery in very early September. She was born without a heart valve, so since birth she has had to go in every few years to have the valve replaced. This was approximately the 4th surgery to have this procedure done in her life.
Something went very wrong during what was supposed to be a routine surgery. Without going into too much detail, she almost bled out and went approximately 20 minutes without oxygen to her brain. After 4-5 surgeries to repair damage, and lots of prayer, Mandy beat all odds against her and was able to come home in November. Two months in the hospital!
This is where her (and her family's) second fierce battle began - with a mountain of medical bills, a lost job (she is a nurse and they needed to fill her position), and looming rehab costs on the horizon. Mandy is having a difficult time with the brain repair, and keeping food down. She is very underweight, and struggles with shaking if she gets too overstimulated. Todd came down with Shingles due to all the stress and can't take time off to recover because of the financial challenges.
My brother Todd has been trying to stay ahead of all the bills while working in the midst of all this, sometimes overtime, while trying to care for their two girls. He has also been battling health issues with Crohn's and is trying to recover from Shingles while working. Aside from lots of prayers, their family greatly needs financial help as they have great concerns of losing their home along with everything else. If Mandy gets strong enough for rehab, just that care alone will cost $7000 out-of-pocket.
The nightmare just won't stop! As of today, Mandy is now back in the ER. For the last 14 hours she has had uncontrollable shaking and difficulty breathing.
Please help me to remove the financial obstacle for them so they focus only on getting strong and healthy. Their girls need both of them!
