Hello everyone!
As many people have reached out and are asking for updates on Mandy and Elliot James-Todd Hankel (recently known as Baby Bambino!), here is an update as of now.
Mandy was having high blood pressure and difficultly breathing last weekend and went to the hospital to get it checked out. She was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia with fluid in her lungs. As a result of this Elliot did not have enough fluid to "swim" in. This, as well as the severe preeclampsia, was very dangerous for both Elliot and Mandy. The doctors made the decision to perform a C-section that night (7/3/2017) to protect both momma and baby. Elliot was born at 26.5 weeks, weighing only 1 pound and 15 ounces.
After some up and downs, Mandy was discharged from the hospital this evening (7/9/2017 - praise the Lord!). Elliot on the other hand will be staying in the NICU for about 10-12 more weeks. He will probably be discharged around his due date - October 4th - give or take two weeks. He is an absolutely beautiful baby boy, who has already overcome and fought many battles. This is an answer to prayer.
Throughout this whole thing Mandy and baby Elliot have felt all of the prayers and love being sent their way. Many people have asked what you can do to help. What they need right now, besides an abundance of prayers, is monetary assistance for the medical bills piling up if you feel so led.
