Man of Steel

This man was truly a Man of Steel. His will to live was inspiring, motivating, and he left behind with us a legacy of honor and courage. He never asked for help. The story of his fight started May 19, 2004, when he suffered a stroke that left him in a coma for 22 days. After a hard fight in a near vegetative state, he came back. He was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2008. He was hospitalized again and again he fought. He went through chemo and radiation and God performed a miracle for the second time when he beat cancer. He had been cancer free for 10 years but on September 5, 2018 he was hospitalized once again. He spent a grueling 34 days in the hospital, fighting pneumonia, low oxygen and kidney failure when they found a mass in his lung and his prostate. They could not perform the biopsy on his lung because he was already too weak, but after investigating the prostate they found that the cancer had metabolized in his system and he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Through all of this, the one constant thing was his smile. That never changed. The reason we are making this page, is because we, his grandchildren, want to honor him and help with the expenses. Many people have reached out and said they wanted to help, and we thought this would be the easiest way to do that. Anything that comes in will go towards funeral arrangements and hospital bills. My grandfather's last desire was to go back to Brazil to visit his family and to see the land he came from one more time. He didn't get a chance to do that. But, my mother will take his ashes back to Brazil and scatter them in the place that was most significant to him. We want to thank everyone in advanced for all the prayers and all the help so far.
