On September 1, 2019 Hurricane Dorian, with winds recorded at up to 230 mph, caused devastating and almost unimaginable damage to the island of Man O War, it’s neighboring cays and the central mainland of Abaco.
We have created a Board of 8 to represent the people of Man O War - 3 MOW persons (Gary Sawyer, Jeremy Sweeting, James Pleydell-Bouverie) and by 5 American second homeowners (Joe Cammarata, Jack LeFort, Josh Whetzel, Wan Grabb, and Bobby Switzer). The Man O War Relief Fund, a US 501 C3, has targeted objectives which mostly relate to infrastructure rebuilding. Until this is accomplished, normal living and commercial conditions cannot exist. It’s first goal will be to assist in the immediate clean up of the settlement and landscape of MOW, and also the removal of watercraft that are mostly on property not owned by the boat owners. Until this is done there will not be safe or efficient passage on land or in the water.
All funds donated through this Go Fund Me Page will be donated to The Man O War Relief Fund, a US 501C3 tax deductible charity, benefiting the infrastructure rebuilding of Man O War.
