Mamatropolis life line

my name is Samantha, and this year I’m doing a fellowship project through the Culture Push organization called Mamatropolis. When I began the project, the goal was to bring together recent mothers and gestational parents in the nyc area to organize around common goals. In this age of Covid-19, social distancing, and economic decline, I’ve decided to restructure the project with mutual aid at the center. I’m using this platform to raise emergency funds for New York area parents who have been impacted by this crisis in terms of health and/or finances.  After taking  a brief survey to determine need (linked below), parents will be eligible to receive $200 of emergency funding. Additionally, funders and those who want to help but can’t donate money will be asked to complete another survey to determine what non monetary resources they can offer (I.e. legal advice, therapy, healing, proofreading, accounting, distance learning, contacts etc). While money obviously helps during this time, these non monetary resources are arguably more valuable
