UPDATE:
I have started this page in support of a dear friend whose family is going through hard times.  For those of you that do not know her, she is a loving caring mother of two beautiful girls, Rosa and Vanessa. She raised them by herself, working 2 jobs just to always make sure they didnt go without a roof over their heads and food in their bellies. Throughout the years, she would take in children that had nowhere to go and opened up her home and kitchen to those that had nothing. Because of that, she got the name Mama Rosa.

In Nov 2014, Rosa Gonzalez-Mieles was admitted into the hospital for back pain but was released with pain meds and antiobiotics. Two days later, she went back into the hospital for pain and after doing an exploratory surgery, doctors came across a blood clot in her artery that killed 3ft of her lower intestines. From there they proceeded to do an emergency surgery to remove the dead intestines and reconnect her organs. Mama Rosa came out of the surgery ok, but recently, things took a turn for the worse. Her health has deteriorated and the doctors have said there is not much more they can do. They recently tried dialysis but unfortunately her body can not handle it. They are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. The family was just told it is a matter of days now and, I know they need our help. Please take a moment and donate whatever you can. The family and Mama Rosa will appreciate this!

Thank you!

Update:
From Mama Rosa daughter Rosa: "Today heaven gained an angel.. Everyone who knew my mom knew that she had a heart of gold.. My mother was well known for her cooking and cappuccinos.. She was the best mother anyone could ask for not just to me and my sister but to all my friends who had nowhere to go. She put others before herself always.. Mom was a strong and independent woman. She was the true definition of an angel on earth.. Great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and of course mother. Touched lives of many with her love and personality. My soul feels torn.. My heart.. In pieces.. I wish this was a nightmare and I could just wake up and you'd be here. But at least ur not suffering and ur at peace with God. It brings me joy to know ur with grandma and grandpa.. Now vanessa and I including the babies liana and Damien have one more angel looking over us. We will forever miss you mommy! Rest in peace my beautiful queen!.."
