Mama Susie's Final Adventures

After battling stomach cancer in 2009, it is with a heavy heart that we share Mama Susie's stomach cancer has returned and is much more aggressive. In August we were informed that it has spread to her ovaries and due to the nature of the cancer it is incurable. The only medical options available is to try and contain the cancer through chemotherapy or take medications to ease the pain and keep her in comfort during her remaining days. Given her current strength and the side effects of chemotherapy, Mama Susie has chosen to forgo chemotherapy and spend her remaining time with family and friends in place of the hospital.

During this difficult time we are reaching out to our family and friends to help our Mom with her greatest battle. She has devoted her life to helping others; always lending a helping hand and giving to those less fortunate than herself. Her humility has allowed those around her to thrive and as she confronts this fight with cancer, we’re asking others to help her thrive. 

Living expenses, medical costs, and looming funeral costs are too great of a burden for us to bear so we would greatly appreciate any support from family and friends. If you’re unable to contribute monetarily all thoughts and prayers are appreciated as well. Despite this diagnosis and the timetable Mama Susie has been given, she is in high spirits. She has appreciated all of the love and support and rather than choosing to let this fight sadden her, she has chosen to live each and every day to the fullest!
