Mama Rose’s Funeral

Mama Rose (Rose Mary (Cormier) Constantine) passed away on September 12. We know her as Mama Rose because she was a mother to everyone around her. Like so many of you, I got to know her through her grandkids. They were living with Mama Rose, and Jonas had invited her to join him at a new church. She became one of the strongest members of the church family that I have ever known--she was a living example of Christlike loving kindness.
At the time of her passing, it was discovered that the money she had carefully set aside for her funeral had been lost. Her grandsons, Jonas and Trey, have honored all the sacrifices she made for them by shouldering this financial burden. They are doing this at a time when they are already struggling to rebuild— last month, a tree fell onto Trey’s house, and he and his family have been working to rebuild it. They haven't asked us to help, but Mama Rose never waited to be asked. She saw needs around her and she filled them. Please join in honoring Mama Rose by contributing to help ease the burden being borne by her grandchildren.
Everything raised will go to the funeral and memorial costs, which are being handled by Jonas and Trey. If we do raise anything above those costs, we will donate those to helping her grandson’s family rebuild. The viewing is on Friday, Sept. 21 from 5-9pm at the Syrie Funderal Home in Lafayette. The funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 W. Bluebird, Lafayette, LA. If you are able, please join the family as they come together to remember a truly wonderful woman.
