My mom, my angel, was one of the healthiest people I ever knew. In my eyes, she has always been a warrior. Ever since I can remember, she has cared for the wellbeing of my children and myself. She raised them, she taught them to be respectful, and honest human beings. She always emphasized that education is very important. She always encouraged them to go to school and pursue their dreams. I was blessed to be chosen as her daughter and to live with her for 51 years. We all loved her dearly.
To everyone who may not have heard the news... my mom began to feel a little sick on Monday, August 28, 2017. I took her to urgent care on Tuesday and then to the emergency room on Wednesday. They were unsure of what she was feeling. We returned home late that evening, but unexpectedly on Thursday morning, I had to call an ambulance due to her unresponsiveness and a high fever. After various types of tests and long nights at the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), the doctors confirmed she had West Nile virus. It was explained to us that my mom's case was a rarity and extremely severe. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this virus and she passed away on September 21, 2017.
My family is deeply saddened to have lost her, but we know she is with the Lord and at peace in his kingdom.
As the circumstances were unforeseen and sudden, the financial burden is heavy. Funeral arrangements have been arranged and in lieu of flowers, donations would be very much appreciated. Any amount you can find in your heart will be an absolute blessing. If you are not able to donate don't forget you can still leave messages and comments for the family to read.
The donations will be divided between funeral costs and her favorite charity the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. Let us remember and celebrate the life of my precious mom, my angel, my chula.
