<div>Today, they are disappearing. Not because women have forgotten. But because modern life has made their daily preparation nearly impossible.

<div>Mama Asal is a women-led nonprofit founded on 2026 by five women united by one mission: preserve Somali culinary heritage and create dignified economic opportunities for the women who carry that knowledge, in the Horn of Africa and across the global Somali diaspora.

<div>We are building the first women-run traditional Somali food production workshop, where ancient recipes become daily work and real income.
