Dear family and friends of Michelle,
We are a close knit group of friends who have known Michelle for nearly 20 years. Individually, we have experienced personal highs and lows and have always had each other to get through it. Our dear friend, Michelle, is struggling daily with a rare and aggressive type of cancer known as Leiomyosarcoma. Our girl is sooooo many things to us: kind, caring, witty, strong minded, adventurous, and a devoted friend. She is passionate about her faith and devoted to her church community. She is loyal to the Cubs, the Blackhawks and her all time favorite music band U2. Michelle and her husband Pat will be married for 25yrs this month, and together have raised 3 beautiful daughters. Caitlin 20, a junior at Ball State, Madeline 18, a freshman at Grand Valley State University and Megan 15, a sophomore at Plainfield East High School.
Michelle was diagnosed with metastatic Leiomyosarcoma March 2017. She immediately started treatment and has subsequently gone through 6 different types of chemo, radiation and multiple procedures. Right now, Michelle is currently on a daily oral chemo, has limited endurance, and requires oxygen continuously. With these recent health changes, Michelle is unable to continue with her career, and Pat is now needing to take extended time off from work to dedicate himself to caring for Michelle. Her fight is not over, she will not allow it to be. She fights this terrible disease with her deep faith and strength, not only for herself but for her girls.
Our main focus for this fundraiser, is for Michelle to be able to concentrate mentally and physically on her health and family, without the financial hardship her condition brings. As friends, we are reaching out to all of you to aide her in this battle. This fundraiser is a simple way to make an impact and assist with some of the expenses that have been incurred.
