Mallory's Story

When you're in your 20s, the future is bright with infinite possibilities: you have certain career aspirations, dreams of travel,  plans to buy your first home, and plans to start a family. All these things had to be put on hold when Mallory received a positive diagnosis for breast cancer. 

After weeks of doctor and specialist visits, it was recommended that Mallory receive a mastectomy along with chemotherapy to reduce the risk of the cancer spreading/coming back. According to her oncologist, if Mallory plans to have children in the future, it would be important to begin the egg freezing process. Chemo can severely impact her reproductive system and may cause infertility.

The cost
With a single egg freezing procedure averaging anywhere from $10,000 to $17,000 in California, we're trying to raise as much as we can since Mallory will have to keep multiple eggs frozen for up to 5 years while she is on hormone blockers during her recovery. The above cost usually covers initial tests, the retrieval surgery, and injections, but won't cover the annual fee to store the eggs or the IVF procedure itself, which is $20,000.  If more than the campaign amount is raised, the rest of the funds will go towards Mallory's other treatments, surgery and recovery.

We are trying to raise $15,000+ to assist Mallory with necessary treatments she needs in order to beat her cancer and start her family.
