Malia's Educational Archaeology Trip to Romania!

Hello family and friends! As most of you know, in this month of December I received my Bachelor's degree in Biological Health Sciences as well as a minor in biomedical anthropology. I want to spread my thanks to everyone that helped me accomplish such a major first step in my future career as a forensic anthropologist, I could never have done it without your support! The next step in my journey is to gain experience in the field of bioarchaeology. I have been presented with an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to travel abroad to the country of Romania to do just that. During the entire month of June, myself as well as fellow archaeology students, will spend our days carefully excavating ancient remains in search of answers of how daily life was carried out in the 15th century in Romania, as well as possibly examining skeletal remains to observe clues of political and religious unrest of that time.  All of the remains are cleaned and sent back to the University of South Florida (my alma mater) and used for teaching future osteology classes. This fascinating research will not only serve as great experience for my future career, but also help me in finding jobs while obtaining both my Masters degree and PhD! Because this is such a large-scale project, I need assistance  in paying for this opportunity. The donations would be applied to program fees, airfare, as well as groceries while on this month long experience. Every little bit helps, and would be greatly appreciated!
