Help Malcolm Bryant Harrison Fight Cancer
I am Malcolm Bryant Harrison's mother and I'm setting up this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of Malcolm to assist with the financial burden of his current cancer diagnosis. This will include the upcoming surgery, prosthesis, rehabilitation, and on-going cancer treatment.
My son, Malcolm Bryant Harrison, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in January, 2018. Sarcomas represent about 2% of all cancers. Rhabdomyosarcoma is an even rarer sarcoma cancer that affects mostly young people.
Malcolm is a 2016 graduate of Austin High School. He has played baseball since he was 5 and was very good. Malcolm played for his high school and a semester at Coastal Bend College. He was an excellent pitcher and outfielder. He really loves this game.
Malcolm started his chemotherapy treatment February, 19, 2018 and completed his 1st 21-day cycle March 9th. He started his 2nd cycle on March 26, 2018. His treatment will consist of 17 cycles, surgery, and rehabilitation, lasting through the fall of 2019.
In the very near future, Malcolm is scheduled to have his right leg amputated above the knee. This is required to prevent the spread of the cancer and to save his life. This surgery will be done by a surgeon at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
We have excellent insurance but are expected to pay all co-insurances, deductibles, co-pays, travel and lodging expenses.
