Malawi eye project 2020

Gold doesn’t only come from the ground

Is it possible to put a true cost to Eyesite, we know there is huge value to eye site and we take it for granted every day when you pick up your car keys, read a book, watch your favourite series on TV but how do we actually put a value to it? Is it possible?

On my last Maun2Maun humanitarian trip we mostly helped kids Hyperopia and Myopia. Kids with slight autism that never smiled before and even a 14 year old girl which her teachers didn’t know she couldn’t see the chalkboard properly.

We are trying to make a difference and could use your help. Distances are far and places are difficult to reach. The difference between Urban and Countryside is vast in Africa. We tackle the tough roads and unfriendly terrain that most people can’t get to. We get the support from Government and local offices to “drive” (excuse the pun) vision projects to help school kids with a better chance at making a difference for themselves and their future. With the Global Vission uSee kit we are able to help 92% of the populations eyesite issues right on there doorstep.

1. Presbyopia (poor near vision due to age).
2. Hyperopia (poor near vision due to refractive error)
3. Myopia (poor distance vision due to refractive error)

Africans are amazing, brave and humble people that don’t share their problems easily. They don’t have the funds or resources to head to the malls like we can and even in most cases don’t know they have an issue because they’ve just dealt with it their whole life.

What’s vitally important to this is we don’t only leave present children and adults with a future we also train local individuals to keep using the uSee kits that we leave behind so the process doesn’t stop for future generations. It would be irresponsible to drop and go, well that’s what we believe.

We need help with running costs going from Cape Town to Lilongwe in Malawi to help screen these kids. By donating to this cause you'll help with fuel, 2 x reading glass cases with 500 pairs each, accommodation, running our vehicles and so much more.

There are always a variety of reasons to sponsor and we can cover over 92% of them.
