Mala Nursery School in The Gambia Needs Help

Mala Nursery School was created in 2014 at Sika village, 4 kilometers away from the founder's home town Jufureh. Omar Darboe founded the school to minimize child exploitation, trafficking, and abuse of local children in the street. Mala is the first Sika Village nursery school in over 53 years. Mala Nursery School currently conducts classes under a mango tree since 2014 due to lack of financial support.

Since there are no funds to provide a typical classroom setting, students cannot attend classes during the rainy season and sandstorms. There is also a lack of structurally sound desks and seats for students to utilize comfortably without snagging or dirtying clothes. Financial backing would allow for the purchase of instructural tools such as books and chalkboards.

Mala Nursery School needs funding for 3 classrooms, 1 head teacher's office, 2 teachers bathrooms, and 2 student bathrooms (male and female). And security measures to build gates to lock and protect the classroom location and materials.

Trying as hard as we can to raise money to initially purchase masks, hand sanitizer, and uniforms.
