Making visors for NHS staff and key workers

We are urgently raising money to create visors for NHS workers, care workers and undertakers that are facing a lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Our initial goal was to raise £1K to make just over 500 masks but we have exceeded this target and are now aiming to make up to 4,000 visors.
My name is Kyla McCallum and I run a small design studio in London called Foldability. I have set up this initiative to raise money to help us produce visors for those who need them most during this fight against COVID-19.
Unfortunately, there is currently an inadequate supply of PPE and although the government are currently distributing kits across the UK, it is unclear if visors will be issued to everyone who needs them.
We decided to focus on the Delve single-use design as it is quick to produce and a single person can make up to 250 per day. We are started our target at £1000 which covered costs to create just over 500 visors. Up until now, I funded the prototyping and initial production through my business but with support we will be able to create a larger number of visors and get them to people as quickly as possible. We are donating our time but need money for materials and delivery costs.
As well as covering material costs, the money raised will be used for same day deliveries within London and next day deliveries to the rest of the UK, to make sure we can deliver stock as soon as it is ready. We are aiming to fill the gap until other stock reaches those that need it most.
The design has been approved for medical use in the US and is already being produced there by Ford but it is not yet approved in the UK. So we are asking those that request visors that they must accept that the design has not been approved and that they will be worn at their own risk. Ideally these people would have certified equipment but as one nurse said, "something is better than nothing."
If we don't reach our target we will make as many visors as possible with the money raised. If we exceed our target we will make even more (permitting the materials are available)! Any money raised that doesn't get used will be donated to The Red Cross National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus appeal .
Please note that Visors Please is managed by Foldability Limited which is not a registered charity. We are donating all of the visors for free and are not taking any payment for our time. Any donations raised will be used solely to cover materials and delivery costs for the visors.
