Making Fourth Grade Possible

Tax deductible
Our Spring 2018 Semester at Sea cohort, with Prof Megan Lewis and Lifelong Learner Doug Carter,  visited Senase in Ghana, where SAS alum Fred Benneh is working wonders and has created the Semanhyiya American School (SAS).

Having come to this community, spent time here learning about, and from, the fierce, resourceful, and entrepreneurial Ghanaians we have met in Senase, we are raising funds to support SAS’ mission of being able to make this amazing educational, confidence-building, and community empowerment experience available to more than the 120 children who are currently lucky enough to be enrolled.

We are working to raise $8000 required to build the 4th grade classroom in time for the September start of school.

Please visit godfredsfoundation.org for more on Fred’s brilliant work in his hometown community. This trip has been life-changing for us, and epitomizes the kind of engaged, locally-based, globally-minded education that Semester at Sea prides itself for!

And please consider making a donation - in any amount to help this worthy cause. Thank you! Medase!
