Making beer. Helping Veterans.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video to see how important this project is to me, Andrew Thomas, and John Reid of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.  I ask that you donate to the larger cause of helping Veterans, while helping me start a purpose-driven company.

Backstop Brewing Co. is a co-op brewing company that will have two other companies manufacturing beer on the same equipment.  All three will have a presence in a taproom open to consumers.  Backstop wants to help Veterans, but needs your help first.

Helping Veterans is extremely important to me (Andrew), a co-founder of Backstop Brewing Co.   My father is a combat-wounded Veteran; my brother is active-duty.  We have generations upon generations in our family with Military service members.

Almost every Veteran could use assistance in some form or another.  Most commonly, many Veterans have a difficult time assimilating back into society after they serve in the Military, because the struggle to find purpose or a mission in civilian life.  In other cases, they have life-long physical wounds to manage and mental issues, like Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), to address.

As an individual, I cannot make the impact I want to make by helping local Veterans with issues they may be facing.  However, by starting my company, I can be a compelling force to reach people and local organizations, such as the Northern Colorado chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, by using various options to reach Veterans in need.  Hopefully, together, we can transform lives.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart concentrates on outreach programs to reach Veterans who are both seeking help and not seeking help to assist in making their lives improved and healthier.

The $50,000 I'm asking to raise is 5.0% of the overall project to start Backstop Brewing Co.  This money will make the project a reality.  Backstop can then obtain a location and start making beer.

Important note: All money raised to start Backstop Brewing Co.  is pledged back to local Military organizations, like the Northern Colorado chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.  Backstop Brewing Co. also pledges a portion of net earnings to Veterans on an annual basis.

In terms of how net earnings are used, Veterans will be considered as an investment group eligible for distribution of profits.

Pledged Backstop Brewing Co. net earnings to Veterans, per year:
- Year 1: $10,000
- Year 2: $14,000
- Year 3: $20,000
- Year 4: $20,000
- Year 5: $20,000

Thank you all very much for your support towards Backstop Brewing Co. and, more importantly, the impact you'll have helping Veterans.
