Making A Hergy Baby

For more than 6 years of our lives together, Harry and I have tried to conceive naturally. We’ve undergone procedures, testing, and fervently continued to try to make our dream a reality. 1.5 years ago we finally decided to reach out to a specialist, and i did the initial consult but didn’t feel ready for the hormones/ meds.
Fast forward to December of last year when i knew i was ready to take on this challenge. We’ve found a great team at The Jones Institute and adore our fertility doctor, Dr. Lori Homa. After two failed inseminations, we are approaching the next level of procedures- IVF- with the benefit of a greater chance of success/ pregnancy. What does all that mean? For insemination, they took a sample from my husband, fine tuned it, and directly inserted it into my cervix. The success rate is only 25%, so it was no great surprise that we didn’t have luck with the 2 that we did. IVF (or In Vetro Fertilization) means that our doctor will literally put my egg and Harry’s sperm together, and then insert up to 2 viable embryos directly into my body. It’s if course more tedious than that; i will have to take daily pills, injections, and be at the hospital/ clinic for tests 3 days apart at first, then every other day. All of these things will be done in a small time frame and rely on time sensitivity, as well as become costly, but it can increase the chances to about 40- 50%. And Dr. Homa is known to have a great success rate. That being said, this is all money we are paying out of pocket. Our insurance does not cover any of these costs. Already having done 2 procedures, we are continually pouring our funds into this dream, and will continue to. But help is much appreciated at this point. OUR DESIRE TO CREATE A LIFE OUT OF LOVE AND TEACH OUR CHILD/ CHILDREN TO BE SOMEONE WHO LOVES IS SO GREAT THAT WE’D SPEND ALL OUR MONEY IF WE HAD TO.
We are humbly asking our loved ones that are able to donate anything to help us with our dream without entirely crippling us. Afterall, we want to bring our baby/ babies into the world in a safe and stable environment, not start the process entirely penniless- but we will make it work however we have to. The amount we are trying to reach is roughly half the cost of what we are facing for the procedure in May. That doesn’t even include the cost of my meds (birth control- to stabilize control the “scientific environment,” then daily hormone pills and injections) as i have to call pharmacies to find my best deal.
We are truly thankful for anyone who feels the desire in their heart to help- whether a penny or more. Your support these past few years has been CRUCIAL in this difficult but beautiful and unique journey of infertility. We are blessed to know and love such amazing people.
