Help Ryan Burch study in London

I am Ryan Burch an actor who hails from Louisville, Kentucky.   I started acting about eight years ago and  since the beginning of my career it's been my dream to someday study with the best and brightest at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, or LAMDA as the fancy people say.

So many of the actors that I admire had prepared for their careers at this institution, the oldest acting school in all of the UK.  Actors such as...

All of these people have been nominated for the Academy Award, and have had long, rewarding and important careers.  LAMDA is also the school producing the most impressive roster of working actors for the theater and film market today.  Young graduates have been seen in such projects as"Game of Thrones", "The Hunger Games" , "Captian America", "War Horse", "Selma" and are all over such favorite franchises as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, James Bond, and Star Wars.




I have a BFA in theater from Elon University that I paid for myself and have made my living acting since I graduated,  When it was time for Grad School, I set my sights on LAMDA. I had a one in five thousand chance of being chosen. Literally.  I worked hard, set my nose to the grindstone and after three rounds of auditions I was accepted.  

I am over the moon.

But here is the thing.  I have made my living in touring companies and regional theater and (as many of you know) that glamorous life hardly keeps a person in car insurance.  About a year ago I moved home, set to working multiple jobs, auditioning and studying in my old Kentucky home and set in motion my plan to go to my dream school. The program is year round so once I get there I cant come home til 2020 and jolly old London is one of the most expensive cities in the world.

And the truth is, I am just a regular guy raised by a  regular single  working Mom who puts up with my non-regular dreams. She supports me with her whole heart and encourages me every day to do the impossible.  A silver spoon is nowhere in our house, but what she gives me is worth so much more than money.

With my savings and projected earnings, I figured if I live as poor as a church mouse I can make it with an additional sum of about seveny five hundred American dollars.  I am not gonna lie more would be great but enough is just fine.

My promise  to all of you is that I will work hard and give back as much of myself as I can.  Just being accepted into this program has humbled me to a place of great thanks.  I am overwhelmed at the generations of knowledge about to be headed my way.  I am blessed beyond measure by this opportunity, and if all my dreams come true I will not forget that it took a village of fairy godmothers to get me to the ball.  Either way I will be in London come the fall.  The question is, will I be looking at the London Bridge or living under it.
