Hello, I’m Tiffany and I want to tell you about an amazing little girl named Makendra Leigh. She was born on August 3, 1998, with her upper and lower intestines on the outside of her little 2-pound body. She was rushed to surgery, but she suffered two strokes during the surgery. Makendra faced many, many hardships in her short life, but she faced them with a smile that was bright enough to rival the sun. Makendra was left with CP, epilepsy, one functioning kidney, and a lot of brain damage. Even at the age of 26, she still enjoyed her Blues Clues and her handy dandy notebook. On her last night on this earth, she took her last bubble bath, put on her pull-up and her new pj’s. I tucked her into her pretty pink bed, turned on Blues Clues, kissed her goodnight, and told her mommy loves her and would see her in the morning. During the night, Makendra suffered a massive Grand Mal seizure that shut her brain down. She passed in her own bed that night.

Makendra's family needs your help. The funeral expenses have come to a little over $9,000, and they have to be paid upfront. While the family had some of it, unfortunately, they need help with the rest. Makendra's mother is a stay-at-home mother to not only Makendra but also to her disabled brother Matthew. Her father works well over full-time to provide for the children and their medical needs. The family needs a little time to breathe and try to put the pieces in some sort of place.
