Hello friends,
I was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung cancer that metastasized to my brain. Shortly after diagnosis I began intense chemotherapy for almost 6 months. A miraculous new technology zapped to two tumors in my head. The chemo shrunk the main tumor in my lung by about 95%. The following year of treatments have kept the tumors at bay. This is good news.
Unfortunately, chemotherapy has side effects. The one that effects my quality of life most is my rapid loss of hearing. I don't watch movies or TV because I miss a lot of dialogue. I can't hear the clicking of my turn signals. I am an avid birder but haven't been able to hear higher frequency bird song, very sad. And most critically, I can't understand the little kids who are anxious to tell me about their favorite animal at Ardenwood Farm.
Hearing aids will greatly enhance every day of my life. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and thank you for all your support.
