Hi Neighbors,

Mike and Linda Smith reached out to all of us to help fix the broken sign at the main entrance to our homes. Unfortunately, a reckless driver destroyed it a few weeks ago. Many of our neighbors have already contributed to cash get the project started. Thank you!

Keeping the entrance to our neighborhood beautiful is important to all of us. Over the years the Smiths have fixed the sign and fence many times, as well as planted flowers and shrubs to make all of us in our community feel welcome as we entered our neighborhood after a long day. We would like to replace the sign. Our options are outlined below.

1- Replace just the sign with a Vinyl Overlay. Cost is $450. This is the least preferred way because it will look run down very quickly.

2- We can replicate the old sign with a nice carved wood sign. Cost is $950. This will work nicely, but problems with the deteriorating wood fence will continue to escalate and look shabby in a short time.

3- We can replace the sign with a nice carved sign (as above) but also replace the wood fence with PVC vinyl posts and add new plantings. $2500-$4000. This will be low maintenance as well as the most cost effective over time. This is the preferred option.

Keeping the entrance to our neighborhood is important to all of us as homeowners. If we garner enough interest it would be great to enhance the entrance on Bridget as well. It should not fall on the shoulders of one family, but all of us in our neighborhood.

Asking for money is difficult and many may not be able to afford it at this time. If you can only contribute $25 that would be great and most appreciated. If you are able to donate more ($50, $100, $200) that would be fantastic! We figured a gofundme site would be the easiest way to collect donations. If you would like to drop off a cash donation that would be great too. You can drop off all cash donations to the Dunne's (Ken & Jennifer).  Mike Smith will provide us all with an accounting of all monies donated and spent on the project. We would like to start the project mid-May, so all donations need to be received by May 15th. Thank you so much for helping our neighborhood.  :)
