Make Sofia Speedy

Hi! We are raising money for Sofia to get a Tiny Trax wheelchair.

Sofia is an identical twin and was born at 30 weeks in 2017. After a difficult few weeks in NICU and suffering from Sepsis, we were finally able to take our tiny babies home. As time went on ,we noticed a difference in the girls' movements and Sofia was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia - a type of Cerebral Palsy.

As anyone who has ever met her will tell you, Sofia is a determined, bright little girl with a smile that lights up the room. The CP affects her legs, causing spasticity which makes it very difficult to walk. With hours of physio and focus, she has just started walking with Tripod Sticks and we are so proud,

However, it is extremely difficult for her to walk far as she becomes tired quickly. She must also walk slowly in order to concentrate. Every step for Sofia is a challenge. Despite this, she , quite rightly, wants to do everything her sister, Valentina, and older brother, Massimo, can do. It is often a struggle, but in our family we believe it is up to us to make the world accessible for our little Sofia. Our family motto is "You can do ANYTHING".

With the help and support of our amazing family and friends, we are usually able to overcome most obstacles. The fantastic charity 'Designability' loaned Sofia a Wizzy Bug wheelchair when she was two. She absolutely loves her Wizzy and it has allowed her to access activities and places which would have previously been impossible. She is now too old for Wizzy and needs the next model up- a Tiny Trax.

Sofia and Valentina have just started school. Although Sofia is settling in well inside the classroom, she is reliant on Wizzy outside. A Tiny Trax is even faster than Wizzy and will allow her to keep up with her classmates. It also has all terrain wheels, meaning she will be able to access Forest School and go on all kinds of adventures with her siblings. It will be literally life changing.

The cost of this fantastic piece of kit is £6400. We have applied to charities and will self fund and fundraise to raise funds for Sofia to reach her potential and do ANYTHING!
