Dzokden is entirely 100% volunteer run. Dzokden sponsors and facilitates our guru, Khentrul Rinpoche’s itinerary for our annual teachings and empowerments in the United States, organizes practices, prayer and ceremonial events, keeps the local vajra communities connected, and ensures study materials are available to the community, and manages funds and expenses.
It has been operating, offering religious services exactly that of a non-profit church organization, but without all due benefits. We have been relying on the kindness and generosity of our sanghas who offer their homes, renting spaces and volunteers.
As a non-profit buddhist religious 501.3c organization, Dzokden will have tremendous benefits --
1) Tax exemptions (related to properties and lands, items used for religious purposes, sales of religious materials)
2) Legal structure to establish centers
3) Hold congregations for prayers, meditation and religious rituals
4) Be able to accept tax-exempt donations from all 50 states
5) Eligible for land grants by the government
6) Legal structure to host Rinpoche's events (teachings, prayers, religious rituals, empowerments and initiations) in the USA

Shar Khentrul Jamphel Lodro Rinpoché is a non-sectarian, Jonang-Scholar and Rimé Vajra Master. Khentrul Rinpoché noticed various masters have taken huge effort to give Kalachakra empowerments in the West, and foremost is his Holiness the Dalai Lama who has kindly bestowed the Kalachakra empowerment many times in the United States, yet there was no clear way for students to learn how to practice and realize the teachings, only the preliminary stages were taught by a few places, but no one taught the complete Kalachakra path to enlightenment.
Khentrul Rinpoché has dedicated his life to teaching a clear step by step practice of the Kalachakra tantra to Western lay practitioners (non-monastic buddhist yogis). He has written over 8 books in English on the subject. He is a trailblazer, undertaking tremendous effort to bring these teachings and empowerments to the West in English.

The Kalachakra tantra belongs to the Highest Yoga Tantra and contains the most subtle instructions on how to achieve Enlightenment in this very lifetime. The Tibetan buddhist Jonang lineage is the only tradition that holds the Kalachakra Tantra completion stage teachings to attaining enlightenment, known as the 6 Vajra Yogas of Kalachakra. Most of the Jonang Vajra masters have never left their caves and monasteries in the Himalayas thus giving the impression that for quite a long period time, other lineages of Tibetan Buddhism believed perhaps the Jonang were extinct.
