Make NHS Visors Appeal
Special times call for special efforts, collaborations and new synergies

This GoFundMe page has been set up for those who would like to contribute towards the cost of making these much needed 3D printed visors. It costs approx. £1 per visor to produce. Currently operating as a not-for-profit, the weekly cost of producing these visors will simply cover the cost of materials. The hope is to soon be funded through government initiatives but for now, our NHS needs visors.

Prompted by an anaesthetist’s request from the frontline, asking people to start making hospital visors to protect NHS staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, Serena and Robert Billinghurst launched the Make NHS Visors Appeal. The public response has been phenomenal, with hundreds of people across the country now making visors from home to support their local communities and our treasured NHS.

We now need to focus on creating a standardised product, to build on the existing amazing efforts of the general public making visors on a small scale, to take production to the next level. Candice McGowan, owner of B3D Creative Ltd, and Leon Lindblad, Founder of CFA Ltd (a Global Resale Company) have now joined the charge, dedicating their expertise, investment, equipment and time to help scale up the appeal. Making thousands of visors a week using 3D printers, the trio will soon be injection moulding plastic to increase production and reduce the manufacturing cost.

We are meeting these demands as best we can and will continue to scale our operations. Through this appeal, we have already donated hundreds of visors to hospitals, GP surgeries, district nurses, care homes, volunteers and key workers. The visors are not only an important part of the PPE kit, they are also a symbol of gratitude and a way for us to show our NHS we are behind them all the way.

We are urging businesses and communities to get involved with fundraising for this initiative to allow us to make and donate as many visors as possible. If you need a visor, please message our Facebook group page and we will do our best to help you: MakeNHSVisorsAppeal /. We are also creating a URL order form page so we can distribute equally and fairly.

This is a national appeal and we will send the visors wherever they are needed during this unprecedented global pandemic. These uncertain times call for solidarity and we will do all we can to protect our NHS and save lives.

Thank you for your generosity and please share this page with all of your contacts to raise awareness.

Testimonials from some of our visor recipients so far:

“These masks could help prevent infection and thus save lives. The community pulling together helping us like this is unreal.”

“Thank you so much, this is wonderful news and I’m very grateful. It will make a massive difference to morale, as staff have been scared at work.”

“We are low on visors in the hospital where I am working. Been looking this weekend at ways of trying to purchase some for my team and then saw this group! Any help would be much appreciated.”

“These are great! Thanks again.”

“Hi, I saw your post regarding the visors you are making. If you have any spare, please would you consider donating some to our hospital? I’m a consultant anaesthetist and we are now transforming our operating theatres to create more intensive care beds and we are desperately short of visors. Thank you.”

“How good it is to feel safer! Thank you x.”
