<div><strong>A small team of Tartan Army foot-soldiers have decided to cycle to Euro24 in Munich to help Scotland-daft, young footballer, Ethan Walker realise his dream.</strong>

<div><em>Ethan Walker might just be the most committed Scotland fan there is. He's preparing to cycle 1200km to watch his heroes only eight months after a serious accident where he sustained multiple injuries. </em>

<div>In September 2023 the footballer, who left local side Huntly FC aged 17 to attend a football scholarship in the U.S. was hit by a car in New York state.
</div>
<div>Tragically he sustained life threatening injuries including multiple fractures, two brain haemorrhages and the complete dislocation of his right knee. The fractured bones included his skull, shoulder, hand, pelvis and knee. On discharge from intensive care Ethan was still unable to swallow and required months of tube feeding.
</div>
<div>The assault to his knee was huge - all his knee ligaments and cartilage were torn, the equivalent of 5 ACL injuries.
</div>

<div>Ethan's mum, who was at home in Scotland when the incident happened, was notified and within a day she was by her son's side in hospital.
</div>
<div>After six weeks in intensive care Ethan travelled back to Scotland where he met top orthopaedic surgeon Professor Gordon Mackay of the Mackay Clinic.

<div>To cycle to Munich for the opening game of Euro 24.

<div>Surgeon Gordon Mackay will cycle alongside Ethan, taking care of him on the journey. Joining Ethan &amp; Gordon are two tartan army members - documentary filmmaker, <a href="https://martynrobertsonfilms.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Martyn Robertson</a> who is making a film about Ethan's story and Stephen Collie who will cycle the route. They will have a support vehicle driven by Richard Milburn.

<div>Leaving from Hampden in Glasgow the group will cycle to Newcastle, catch a ferry to Holland and cycle on to Munich. The cycle will be 1200km in total. This is a massive challenge. None of the group are long distance cyclists.

<div>Our supporter is Rachel Corsie - captain of Aston Villa and the Scotland National Womens team who is backing us to achieve our goal of making it to the opening game. She will be at the start line to wave us off and will meet us at finish line In Munich.

<div>This is not a race, rather a climate conscious, fun, cycle challenge celebrating our nations achievement of reaching the Euros helping Ethan to realise his dream to conquer the impossible and witness Scotland open a major tournament.

<div>All of us hope to improve our fitness, health and well-being and represent our country positively in the towns and villages we travel through.

<div>We will raise money for <a href="https://www.tdhct.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Duncan Hospital Charitable Trust</a> which exists to support the activity of a hospital in Bihar, Northern India which was founded by a Scotsman in 1930.
