Make Heritage & Arts centre secure

OpenHand OpenSpace is an artist-led centre based in Reading that fosters excellence in contemporary art and provides affordable studio and exhibition space for artists. Its education and exhibition program is open to all and promotes public access to visual art and artists. Since its foundation in 1980 in a former military keep, its studios or exhibition spaces have been used by well over 100 artists, including Cornelia Parker and Douglas Gordon.

We are seeking contributions from donors who are in a position to help us meet a number of major costs caused by travellers setting up in our car park. We have successfully moved them on via a expensive court proceedings and bailiffs, and OHOS now faces a major operation to clean up, repair damaged locks, and purchase and install a height restriction barrier. We would like to thank ClarksLegal LLP for the help they have already provided.
This GoFundMe campaign seeks immediate financial assistance as until we install the proper security measures and sort out the damage and mess that has been left behind, we remain vulnerable to further similar problems.
