Our Honeymoon Dream — Help Us Get to Japan!
Even though we briefly lived next to each other in 2014, fate didn’t bring us together until the spring of 2022, when we finally met at my mom’s coffee shop, Morning Wood Brew, right here in American Falls, Idaho. At first, we were just friends who happened to see each other over cups of coffee. Then we started spending more time together, taking our kids to local events and letting them play while we talked and laughed.
After we both went through difficult personal chapters, we found something special in each other—compassion, understanding, and eventually, love. We made our relationship official in February of 2023.
Shortly after, we shared the exciting news that we were expecting a baby girl. That moment came with a whirlwind of emotion, including a very memorable reaction from her oldest son, Kraythen. He had a full-on meltdown, repeatedly saying, “I don’t want him to be my dad!” It was all at once sad, sweet, funny, and unforgettable—a real marker of blending a family with love and patience.
In September 2023, we bought our first home together—a space that’s a bit too small for our big blended family of 7. We’ve made it work by having the kids share rooms and converting the garage into a living space. It’s cozy and chaotic, but it’s ours.
We're getting married on October 18th, 2025, and planning a honeymoon for Spring of 2026—after the busy winter season ends for me as a chimney sweep. Our dream is to explore Japan together, experience a new culture, and yes—have an authentic bowl of ramen from a street stand!
We’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the cost of travel and make this once-in-a-lifetime adventure possible. If we’re lucky enough to surpass our goal, any additional funds will go toward building our dream home on the land we already own.
We are deeply grateful for your support and generosity. Whether you donate or simply share this with someone who might want to help, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love,
Drew & McKayla
