Make Breast Cancer Step Aside

First off, thank you for taking the time to read this worthy story.

Just recently our great friend Michelle was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. For the last 8 year she has always wanted to tell other people’s stories through her lenses as one of Rochester (and its surrounding areas) most talented photographers, bringing such happiness to so many through her incredible vision. But now is the time to tell Michelle’s story, one that we pray will have a happy outcome. Along with being a single mother to her son, she is also a fur-momma to three animals at home. Michelle is one of those people that as soon as you meet her, you're immediately drawen to her and her passion for life.  She is truly one of the kindest, most loving individuals you will ever met who has hit some bumps in her life. She is now in need of the support and generosity that she has time and time again, exhibited to her family, her friends, her community and her church.

A couple months ago Michelle began to experience symptoms that raised concerns. Just reaching into her 40’s she never had a Mammogram, seeing as they say you don’t need one till then unless you notice a lump or any changes within your breasts. Michelle was diligent on checking her body and making sure she was fine until this one weird bump show up one day. Michelle immediately scheduled a mammogram. She was nervous not only that this was her first one ever but that she just felt something was wrong. When the scans came up and they saw something suspicious her nerves begin to worsen.  Within a hour they were performing two biopsies on her and sent her home to wait for the answer.  One day later her one of her worst fears was confirmed, she indeed has cancer and they believed it was possibly two different types in more than one area of the breast. She pursued the medical opinion of a surgeon who reconfirmed the tumor and identified the cancer as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with a 50/50 survival rate. This surgeon gave her treatment options but seems to be optimistic about her future. The cancer is currently staged between 2A-2B along with it being a triple negative. If you are not aware, Triple Negative Breast Cancer tends to be more aggressive than a majority of all the other different types of breast cancer. It also is more likely to spread beyond the breast and more likely to reoccur after treatment. Her treatment course will consist of chemotherapy for the next eight weeks, surgery, then a full course of radiation, which will severely impact if not completely limit her ability to continue her career.

We are here to help Michelle offset mounting medical expenses and missed time from work. This financial burden should not be a concern for her or any person going through a situation like this one.  We are asking for you to rally behind her and help her get through one of the biggest challenges God has placed upon her.
