Are you a real company?
Large Ladders is a very real company. Our LLC was formed in the great state of Arizona.
If you look at the start date of this GoFundMe, you will see that it was created in January. We created it prematurely and spent 11 months building out the concept.
Is the website live?
Yes, feel free to check it out https://www.largeladders.com/.
Why were we founded?
Large Ladders was originally founded to help meet the growing demand for ladders in North America. The border wall, which is currently under construction, will cause ladder demand to surge.
The wall also looks like a token example of irresponsible government spending. $10 billion+ for a wall? The government must be paying top dollar for ladders. How much effort was put into this company?
To date, our founder has put about 850 hours of work into the company's creation. The website underwent three redesigns and is still being optimized. If our founder knew anything about front end dev., It would probably have taken him half the time. It also took time to create the content, file an LLC, and integrate with various platforms (e.g., FB, Printful, Evanto, etc.).
If the ladder company doesn't work out, our founder wants to move into a creative director position. He used the creation of this company as an opportunity to learn/grow his skillset. You have ladder products, so why the GoFundMe?
We currently only refer individuals to different ladder resellers. We do get a referral commission, but it is minimal.
With our own product line, we could take in close to 40% of the revenue. Manufacturing your own products has a high barrier to entry (hence the high GoFundMe goal). What else will the money be used for?
1) Securing office space-
Currently, all the LLC mail goes to the founder's parent's house. 2) Advertising-
If we do not hit our overall goal, the majority of the funds will go to advertising. We will first start on the creation of our very own commercial. We don't believe in unpaid interns, but if you know of some college kids needing a capstone video/commercial to work on, hit us up. We can work something out. 3) Acquiring bulk merchandise-
We integrated with a printing company, but we only order one at a time. This causes our product costs for branded merchandise (e.g., stickers, shirts) to be extremely high.
Why is the site called LargeLadders.com?
Alliteration will help with brand awareness and our founder thought it was funny. He actually thinks the whole concept of a ladder company, based off the wall, is hilarious.
Do you have a political stance on immigration/the wall?
Large Ladders does not have a stance. Our founder however, does. We are not the NBA and we gladly encourage our employees to share their opinions. Send him a message and he will gladly let you know his stance.
