The start up-
As you may remember, I brought up the idea of starting Make A Riff about 6 months ago, well the time to get serious is here. I will be starting a GoFundMe for the foundation along with contacting businesses, web designers, musicians and artists to try and get as much help as possible. Donations of all types (money, gear, ideas, your free time) will be greatly appreciated in the next few months. I hope to have the first guitar bundles ready to go by September and keep going as long as we can get guitars in the hands of kids, hopefully one day nation wide.
The dream-
The main goal for Make A Riff Foundation will be to give guitar bundles(electric guitar, gig bag, cords, picks, practice amp, tuner, music book) and hopefully money towards lessons to as many kids who don't have the ability to purchase all of that gear around the area and hopefully spread nation wide. Hopefully with the help of all of you we can spread the importance of music education to the future rock stars of tomorrow( the next Ace Frehley or Jason Becker could be the kid next door!). We also hope to bring in guest speakers to help push the importance of a solid music education as well as benefit shows, pizza parties and all other sorts of special events to help spread the word and raise money for the cause.
The end game-
Make A Riff Foundation will work as hard as we can to help the youth gain access to guitars and spread the joy and love of music. As Paul Stanley from KISS once said, "We have been given a gift, we have been given a road and that roads name is...ROCK AND ROLL!!!"
